Bats in Bear Lake, Utah

Bat colonies are prominent in Bear Lake, Utah.  From the Big Brown Bat to the Silver-haired Bat, Bear Lake is home to many species of bats.  The locals are very familiar with the bats, also.  Many times, they don’t even have to leave their backyards to see them!  Unfortunately, some families don’t even have to leave their homes.  Bats will move into attics, walls, crawlspaces, and under roof tiles without hesitation if they can find an entrance and if the space provides protection from any predators.

Especially in Bear Lake, Bat problems are common.  The following stories are from people that had problems with bats in their homes.

I believe I have bats in my attic and was curious what the suggested plan of attack would be for removal and exclusion. I had someone “bat proof” my house a couple years ago, but they never removed the one-way doors and I still see signs of bats from time to time (occasional droppings, but not piles). The home is old and I\'m sure there will be difficulty in excluding them completely, however, I want to pursue options to confidently exclude them from the living areas at a minimum. As I am extremely intimidated by bats, not knowing whether they are there is just as bad as having one flying around. In the past 7 years, we have probably had 6 that made it into the living areas that we saw and were aware of, we have heard others in the attic however and see them flying around outside often.

I don\'t have an ongoing problem with bats, but I do have the occasional bat in my home. At the moment, I just have one bat that has gotten into my house.  He is currently hanging above the back door, so I\'m not too keen on trying to go open it and let him out. There is also a window near where he is, but I have the same issue with the window as I do the door, I don’t necessarily want to go near him to open it.  I know I\'m probably more afraid of him than he is of me, so I’d appreciate help removing him.  Thanks

For the past 10 years we have found bats flying around our house on several different occasions; there have been times when up to 10 were in the main space of the home at one time. We have had the most problems with them in the spring and winter. Our daughters sleep on the third floor of our house where we have three separate eaves and they (and I) have heard scratching in the walls near the eaves. We are fairly sure that it\'s from the bats but we have not seen any this year; yet. We live in town where homes are very close to each other. Our home is over 100 years old and I’m sure has many access points. I need these bats removed from my home and prevented in the future.

Not only can bats cause problems in the home, but as you can see they can be very frightening to people.  If you are having bat problems in your home, don’t feel alone.  Allstate Animal Control is here to help, by calling the number at the top of this screen, we (or one of our technicians) will do our best to help resolve your bat problems.

We solve many types of wildlife control conflicts in Bear Lake and surrounding areas. Give us a call if you need expert animal removal and/or live wildlife trapping. We can also perform an inspection of your property to evaluate the problem.

Many of the projects we solve involve raccoon families in attics and chimneys, mud swallow nests on stucco, woodpeckers drilling siding, voles and gophers destroying lawns, rats or squirrels thumping and bumping around inside walls and in attics, bat infestations, skunks stealing pet food and snakes living in crawlspaces and stone walls.

Along with physical damage and disease, wild animals also bring along disturbance and nuisance with all their noise and commotion and smell. Baby raccoons chirp and chitter like little birds; raccoons and rats will fight all night and keep people awake; skunk smell takes the cake, but have you ever smelled a dead animal in your ventilation system? We have seen much, much more than these problems, but that is a general idea of the kinds of problems that my professional wildlife removal operators and I are prepared to solve.

Not only do my technicians and I trap and remove problem wild animals, we do a lot of other dirty work, too. Don't hesitate to call us for dead animal removal, pigeon waste cleanup, bat guano removal, mouse droppings, decontamination, repairs, above ground and below ground rodent slick fencing, odor control for skunk spray, and the like. We are a full service pest control company with a wide range of animal control solutions.

I have been in the professional wildlife control business for many years. My favorite stories and experiences are removing bats from schools and churches.

For pigeon and bird control, bat removal, or relief from other pest animals, call our wildlife management experts. Many nuisance wildlife companies offer critter capture and control; our wildlife operators provide professional pest wild animal management. We remove the following AND MORE:

  • Bats from attics, eaves and belfries

Wildlife Problems in Bear Lake, Utah

While bats are a HUGE problem in Bear Lake, Utah, there are other animals there that cause problems, too.  With the abundant water supply, animals love to explore the townhouses.

These stories come from homeowners in Bear Lake that we have been able to help with their animal problems.

I had couple of swallows that have expanded into a family of three that are nesting and aggressively occupying my home. They are constantly on my front porch throughout my day and on my window ledge frequently leaving poop. It very unsanitary for my smaller grandchild and me. They fly at the kids aggressive as well and they have an annoying wooing sound that wakes my grandchild every time she hears it. It is that annoying sound that constantly goes throughout the day and at night before the 5:00 a.m. hours.

I have a raccoon that messes around underneath and around our backyard deck almost every night. I finally put a nest camera out last night to be sure that I know what we\'re dealing with. It\'s definitely a raccoon that has been making messes for about a year now. What sort of removal services do you provide for these animals? I want him removed as soon possible.

My house and all the surrounding houses is in the neighborhood are infested with voles. I don\'t want to kill them but I have no idea how else to get rid of these little critters. They are destroying our yards, gardens, and all around the foundation of the house. We need help badly. My sister and brother-in-law are renting the property there. We are in Woods Cross, Utah. Any suggestions you could give us would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
